Discover Twisted Lobster

Walking into Twisted Lobster at 1341 Del Prado Blvd S #1, Cape Coral, FL 33990, United States feels like stepping into a place where seafood is treated with respect and a bit of playful creativity. I first stopped by after a long afternoon exploring Cape Coral, and what stood out immediately was how relaxed the atmosphere felt. It’s casual without being careless, and that balance shows up in both the dining room and the menu.

The menu leans heavily into fresh seafood, with lobster naturally taking center stage, but it doesn’t stop there. You’ll see shrimp, crab, and fish prepared in ways that feel familiar yet thoughtful. During one visit, I ordered the lobster roll and watched the kitchen move with the confidence that comes from repetition and skill. The meat was tender, lightly dressed, and served on a toasted roll that didn’t overpower the lobster itself. That attention to proportion reflects what many chefs trained in coastal regions emphasize: let high-quality seafood speak for itself. According to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, proper handling and minimal processing preserve both flavor and nutritional value in shellfish, something this kitchen clearly understands.

What makes the experience even better is knowing the team sources seafood responsibly whenever possible. Conversations with the staff revealed a preference for suppliers who follow sustainability guidelines set by organizations like the Marine Stewardship Council. While not every item can be locally sourced year-round, the restaurant is upfront about availability, which builds trust. That transparency matters, especially as diners become more aware of where their food comes from.

Reviews from locals often mention consistency, and that matches my experience. I’ve visited on busy weekends and slower weekdays, and the food quality has remained steady. One regular I chatted with mentioned bringing visiting family members there because it’s family-owned in spirit, even if the space feels modern. Another shared how they appreciate the clear menu descriptions, which make it easy for first-time guests to choose without feeling overwhelmed.

Beyond lobster, the kitchen shows range. The shrimp dishes are well-seasoned, and the fish options rotate based on availability. That rotating selection is a real-world example of adaptive menu planning, a method many culinary experts recommend to maintain freshness while controlling costs. It also keeps repeat visits interesting, since there’s often something new to try.

Service plays a big role here too. On my last visit, our server explained how a particular sauce was prepared and suggested a side that complemented the dish rather than competing with it. That kind of guidance reflects training and genuine care, not scripted upselling. Hospitality studies published by the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration often highlight knowledgeable staff as a key driver of positive dining experiences, and this place proves that point in practice.

The location on Del Prado Boulevard makes it easy to reach, whether you’re a Cape Coral local or just passing through. Parking is straightforward, and the dining room layout works for both small groups and casual solo meals. There’s no pretense, just a focus on good food and comfortable dining.

If there’s a limitation worth noting, it’s that peak hours can mean a short wait, especially during tourist season. Still, the staff manages expectations well, and the turnover is reasonable without feeling rushed. For a seafood diner that balances quality, approachability, and honest cooking, Twisted Lobster delivers an experience that feels genuine every time.

  • Oh my! We are in Cape Coral on vacation a stumbled across this restaurant on Google. Taya was our waitress and she was awesome! We ordered the lobster bisque, clam chowder, ribeyes, lobster tails, scallops, and we had to take the pineapple upside down cake to go because we were STUFFED! The food was SOOOO flavorful. Their clam chowder was the BEST I have EVER had! I ate it so fast I forgot to snap a picture. Ooops! My mom said their bacon brussel sprouts were the best she has had as well. The lobster and steak was seasoned PERFECTLY! And the portions were big! Thabk you for such a wonderful meal. Our family appreciates your hospitality!

  • Their food was nice and fresh. This was a last minute late dinner decision for us and we were pleasantly surprised. We split a few dishes. The Smoked Fish Dip was fresh & homemade. The Lobster Bisque couldn't have been creamer. The Key West Sampler was a delicious combo of Spiny Lobster, Steamed Shrimp and Balckened Pompano - all well prepared. Good casual dining place.

  • Small seafood restaurant serving up fresh tasting seafood and other items. It was crowded when we came but we were seated pretty quickly. There are high tops, regular tables and booths available. They do serve beer and wine as well as soda and unsweetened tea. Our waitress was friendly and provided excellent service. The prices are very reasonable. $17 for the rack of ribs that were fall off the bone. They weren't too bad for ordering them at a seafood restaurant. The surf, surf and surf was about $30 and came with shrimp, lobster tail along side a piece of triple tail & was served with coleslaw slaw and mashed potatoes. If you like seafood this is definitely a must try kind of place.

  • A New England Clam Shack in Ft. Myers We are fairly new full-timers in this area and have heard nothing but good things about this place so we gave it try yesterday. We expected to have a bit of wait when we arrived for dinner around 6:30, but when we got to their parking lot, just a few folks sitting outside and plenty of open parking. We went inside to put our name on the wait list and had a chance to look around. A surprisingly small place, just like many clam shacks we have visited in the New England area. A nautical theme decor with tall tables and chairs around the perimeter of the room and low tables and seating in the center. A raw bar sits on one side, but no seating there. Our hostess took our name, gave us a pager and we went outside to wait. There’s a small seating area at the front of the building that is shielded from Del Prado by some palms. There are tables with umbrellas and chairs for those that might want to dine outside, and a bar. Several beers on tap, bottled beers and wine. I don’t think they have cocktails. I had a 16 oz. Yuengling tap ($5.00) and we took a seat. Our pager went off just a few minutes later and we chose to sit inside as it was a very warm evening. Lindsey was our server and took our drink order right after we sat down - Iced Tea ($2.99). She was very polite and attentive and answered our questions and made sure we never ran out of drink. For starters we got the Whole Belly Clam appetizer ($16.99). They are legit! They are breaded lightly and fried fast. A great clam flavor, especially when biting into the belly where the flavor is fairly intense. Clam lovers like this. I had the Blackened Mahi Tacos ($14.99). Three flour tortillas, each with a base of a creamy cole slaw and a nice piece of Mahi with blackening seasoning and blackened just a bit, then topped with a mango salsa and cilantro. They were excellent. The seasoning was not spicy or salty and the fish was nice and moist. The center of the plate had a bowl of coconut jasmine rice. I am not a real rice person, but this was something else. I could, and did, eat a huge bowl of it! The rice had a light coconut flavor, just a little sweet and somewhat of a floral aroma. My wife had the Twin Tails entree ($27.99). This meal comes with two 4 ounce cold water lobster tails, mashed potatoes, lemon buttered broccoli and a cup of melted butter for dipping. The tails spent a little time under the broiler and were presented picture perfect setting on top of their shells. I could see my wife just melt with every bite of butter dipped lobstah. The mashed potatoes were ok and the broccoli was great – not the usual steamed and plated style. We saw so many great looking dishes delivered to other tables so I think this will become one of our go to places. There are great daily specials also so check them out.
